Pankaj shared the following ways to clean different kinds of chopping boards:
1) For a wooden chopping board, firstly, use some baking soda and spread it on top of the board. Use half a lemon and rub it on the surface. Eventually, you’ll notice some froth on it. Keep it like that for 10 minutes and wash it with water. Wipe it with a clean soft cloth and you’ll get the results. In the end, rub some oil on your board and use the same soft cloth to wipe it again.
Pankaj explained that baking soda will help in removing all the dirt from the surface and lemon will work as a natural disinfectant.
2) Now, it’s the turn of the plastic board. Spread some baking soda on top of it. Now, mix the salt and water well and spread it all nicely on the board. When it dries out, add some vinegar. Use a scrub pad and rub the surface properly. Clean it with half a lemon. Use hot water to wash and basically, clean the plastic chopping board. Finally, wipe it with a soft cloth.
In the end, the chef has advised that you must clean your chopping board on weekly basis to prevent it from getting dirty.
